Benyamin's Blog

Despite my grandiose notions that there would be masses of people lining up at midnight tonight to purchase my book, the local bookstores here in Atlanta apparently had other plans. I happen to stop into two stores tonight and found that the book was put on shelves today -- a day before it’s supposed to go on sale. And a friend in New York told me she saw it in a Barnes & Noble there as well. It was a pleasant surprise. Oh well, I guess my book is no Harry Potter.

I’ve got to admit, it’s pretty “gosh-darn” (as Sarah Palin would say) cool to see My Jesus Year actually at bookstores. I snapped the two photos below and am trying to collect pictures from as many places as possible. So if you see the book on the shelf at your local store, send in your picture to theauthor@myjesusyear.com and we’ll post it right here on the blog and mention your name as well.

You should have moved Jenny McCarthy’s anti-immunization propaganda to the back and moved your book up front. That’s the thing about writing a book about Jesus: Jesus is about the only thing that trumps autistic kids in cultural relevance:-).

Hi Ben,
I heard you on NPR Radio yesterday. As a Christian I was very intrigued to hear what you learned, especially the part about being surprised that Christians are interested in the Old Testament. I have only been a Christian for 25 years, but in that time, my experience is that Christians see the Jews as God’s chosen people and look on them with favor. I have taught many books of the Bible over the past 8 years and one comment you made really stuck with me. I think you said that you embarked on this journey looking for a deepening of spirituality because you were jealous of Christians. This reminded me of a statement Paul made in the book of Romans, Chapter 11, verses 11. This is in the New Testament but references the Old Testament. Have you read it? Here are the verses (I have include the 10 earlier verses to put it into context) that describe what you also seemed to describe feeling, the last one in particular:

1I say then, God has not rejected His people, has He? May it never be! For I too am an Israelite, a descendant of Abraham, of the tribe of Benjamin.
2God has not rejected His people whom He foreknew Or do you not know what the Scripture says in the passage about Elijah, how he pleads with God against Israel?

3”Lord, THEY HAVE KILLED YOUR PROPHETS, THEY HAVE TORN DOWN YOUR ALTARS, AND I ALONE AM LEFT, AND THEY ARE SEEKING MY LIFE.”

4But what is the divine response to him? “I HAVE KEPT for Myself SEVEN THOUSAND MEN WHO HAVE NOT BOWED THE KNEE TO BAAL.”

5In the same way then, there has also come to be at the present time a remnant according to God’s gracious choice.

6But if it is by grace, it is no longer on the basis of works, otherwise grace is no longer grace.

7What then? What Israel is seeking, it has not obtained, but those who were chosen obtained it, and the rest were hardened;

8just as it is written,
“GOD GAVE THEM A SPIRIT OF STUPOR,
EYES TO SEE NOT AND EARS TO HEAR NOT,
DOWN TO THIS VERY DAY.”

9And David says,
“LET THEIR TABLE BECOME A SNARE AND A TRAP,
AND A STUMBLING BLOCK AND A RETRIBUTION TO THEM.
10”LET THEIR EYES BE DARKENED TO SEE NOT,
AND BEND THEIR BACKS FOREVER.”

11I say then, they did not stumble so as to fall, did they? May it never be! But by their transgression salvation has come to the Gentiles, to make them jealous.

I really would love to dialogue with you. Not to convince you of Christianity, but to understand your view of Judaism. I am currently teaching a study on Revelation (in the New Test) and we are looking at the book of Daniel and the prophecy’s concerning Jews and God’s care for them because of the eternal covenant He made with Abraham.

Very interesting way to market on facebook. I also found a way to automate several very powerful methods of getting users. You can grab ID by groups or pages or wall posts with this software. Then once you have the IDs you can do a friend add to your user ID or sudo profile. This by passes the captcha codes too. There is also a cool chat program that you can setup scripts and keyword to work with. This program, when I use it I can see a spike in my site traffic. It is amazing...

Your blog came up in my search and I’m stricken by what you have written on this subject. This is getting a bit more subjective, but I much prefer the Zune Marketplace. The interface is colorful, has more flair, and some cool features like ‘Mixview’ that let you quickly see related albums, songs, or other users related to what you’re listening to. Clicking on one of those will center on that item, and another set of “neighbors” will come into view, allowing you to navigate around exploring by similar artists, songs, or users. Speaking of users, the Zune “Social” is also great fun, letting you find others with shared tastes and becoming friends with them. You then can listen to a playlist created based on an amalgamation of what all your friends are listening to, which is also enjoyable. Those concerned with privacy will be relieved to know you can prevent the public from seeing your personal listening habits if you so choose.

Wow, this can be a nice blog you’ve received here. Your post was genuinely helpful and educational, i can not wait to study some much more. I started out playing Farmville about three months a go and i cant believe how addictive it is :). I didn’t realise there was so a lot to understand about it either lol. I’ve invested ages searching for good points and stuff and that is great. I discovered an additional really great website at Farmville Tipsthats has actually very good hints and cheats as well. Btw, if any individual else has any very good points then i wouldn’t thoughts hearing them also. Thanks a great deal for this.

APE, Monkey’s Audio, a lossless compression format. This format of the compression ratio is far below that of other audio formats, but can be truly non-destructive, while its open source nature, also received a lot of music fans of all ages. In many existing lossless compression program, APE is a kind of outstanding performance with the format, a satisfactory compression ratio and fast compression speed, broader application in China has become a lot of friends in private communication with fever choice of music 1.

Thank you to your help!

You look like a professional. Superb website and wonderful writing abilities.

Owner manuals have always been freely available from bookshops and dealerships, as well as on the Internet, but the major problem has been that they tend to be pretty expensive. A new site that permits you to download them free of charge, however, means that you really don’t need to worry about the cost (which can often be as much as it costs to get a fault repaired, depending on the car you have). I know this is really boring and you are skipping to the next comment, but I just wanted to throw you a big thanks - you cleared up some things for me!

Just one thought though. Have you made creating this blog as your occupation or do you do this as part of your extra time? Simply curious..

Sorry for the huge review, but I’m really loving the new Zune, and hope this, as well as the excellent reviews some other people have written, will help you decide if it’s the right choice for you.

It surprised me recently that a major New York electronics retailer recently advertised the 鈥楳ad Men鈥?Season 2 Blu-ray set for a few dollars less than the 鈥榬egular鈥?set. As nice as these units seem to be; it seems like a lot of trouble and hardware. Somebody needs to broker a deal so DVD and Blu-Ray images can be loaded onto hard drives like the Kaleidoscope system.

I just couldnt leave your website before saying that I really enjoyed the quality information you offer to your visitors... Will be back often to check up on new stuff you post!

I Completely recognise what your position in this matter is. While I may disagree on a few of the smaller points, I feel you did an impressive job explaining it. Definitely beats needing to research it on my own. Cheers.

Where might We discover extra info on this matter?

i found your blog searching a couple of totally different topic on yahoo, bizarre ...... in any case, i spent some minutes studying this and another entries and gonna come back often, i appreciated it :)
