I had the opportunity to be on a Christian talk show this weekend that's based out of Australia and hosted by Sheridan Voysey. It was a 25-minute interview in which we discussed the book, my journey, and what it would take for him to convert me to Christianity. Here's the audio of the entire interview:

BetterWorld Books, a neat company that not only sells books but helps spread literacy around the world, recently interviewed me on their weekly author podcast. The audio from the 20-minute interview is below. Click and enjoy.

Most of you know Kirk Cameron from his seminal role on the 1980's sitcom Growing Pains, but nowadays he's something of an evangelical icon. He recently made headlines for turning a tiny Christian independent movie about a fireman (filmed on location here in Georgia) into a blockbuster hit. Cameron has transformed from teen idol to running nothing short of a Christian empire. As I write in the book: "His 'Way of the Master Ministries' is a small media empire with books, speaking engagements, a radio show, DVDs, and an evangelical television show that's seen in seventy countries. Even Growing Pains isn't seen that far and wide."

And so I guess it was inevitable that the day would come when I would get interviewed by that very radio show -- Way of the Master Radio. It's hosted by Todd Friel, a well-known evangelist. I assumed the interview would be a lot like the time I was on a Catholic radio show when a priest and I both shed a little light on the funnier aspects of our respective religions. This morning's interview opened with some traditional Jewish music, funny for an evangelical radio show, so I assumed this interview would be light like the others. But soon after we got started, it turned into a theology lesson and conversion effort.

The truth is I don't mind. Todd's faith tells him to reach out to the unconverted. I respect that. I just find it strange because I spent an entire year going to church and not once did someone try to convert me. And then came this interview. Not to mention that this comes on the heels of Stephen Baldwin trying to convert me yesterday. Yes, that Stephen Baldwin. I'll write about that experience in an upcoming post.

In the meantime, here's a clip of the radio interview from this morning with Todd. Despite the efforts to have me jump over the proverbial fench of faith, I had a good time.  Sit back and enjoy.

Last week I had the pleasure of being on the "Busted Halo" show on the Catholic Channel on Sirius Satellite Radio. I've got to admit, it was by far my favorite interview (and by that I mean I didn't screw up at all). It's actually a pretty cool show ... picture a morning drive time show with a host and sidekicks (except the host is a priest and one of the sidekicks is a guilt-ridden Jew) and you'll get the idea. It's a fun show and I hope they invite me back. In the meantime, below is the audio from the show. Sit back, listen, enjoy, and post your thoughts in the comments section below.

For those of you who have been holding your breath, waiting anxiously to find out when I'll be promoting the book on NPR (I know there's, like, at least two of you) ... well, your wait is now officially over. I'll be on NPR's 'Talk of the Nation' this Monday afternoon at 3 PM EST. You can listen live online or on your radio. The interview is going to be for about 40 minutes so bring a cup of joe, sit back, relax ... and pray to God I don't screw up. Did I mention it's live?

And, if for some crazy reason you don't like the peaceful zen vibe of NPR, I'll be on some other radio shows next week as well. And one more too: Georgia Public Broadcasting's nightly news show on either Monday or Tuesday.

And, as if that wasn't enough, I just found out that the Mobile Press-Register will be writing about 'My Jesus Year' in their paper tomorrow. Gotta love my Bible Belt brethren.

• I'm converting to Catholicism ... just for a few minutes. I'll be on Sirius XM Satellite Radio's Catholic Channel on their cleverly-titled 'Busted Halo' show on Tuesday night at 8:15. It's a perfectly normal way to spend the day before Yom Kippur.
